We have lots of ministries so you can find a place get involved. Join one or more to stay connected! All ladies of our church are invited to a time of fellowship and study and program where we learn to love God and serve God in our community and in the world.! All Men of our church are invited to a time of fellowship, a meal, and an inspiring program. We have a variety of speakers covering a variety of subjects. Our Youth (grades 6 - 12) meet in the Youth house for study, fun and games, and Christian fellowship. All Youth are invited. Our Youth Director, Freddie Odum, leads and directs. Our Senior Adults (55+) meet monthly for a meal and a community related program.. Our children's ministry meets on Wednesdays during the school year and on Sunday morning during adult worship. Our Bible Study is currently meeting during lunch on Thursdays. We share a light meal and discuss various aspects of John's Gospel. Make Disciples of Jesus Christ who worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly. We make disciples of Jesus Christ by: **Contacting** our neighbors in Jesus' Name; **Connecting** our neighbors to Christ through the Church; **Cultivating** our neighbors in the Word of God and Christian love; and **Commissioning** our neighbors as servants of Christ in our community. Considering that the early church worshipped in large settings - in the synagogues - as well as in homes, we unite together similarly in order to be in deeper fellowship with God and one another. God has reconciled us not only to Himself but also to each other. This "each other" is called His Church. The mission of our Church is to glorify God by making disciples through the gospel of Jesus Christ. God’s mission and the mission of His Church are inseparably linked. As Jesus Christ works in and through us to fulfill our mission and pursue our vision, we expect to see results in three areas: Community Transformation, New Church Formation, Next Generation Empowerment. Your family is always welcome. The heart of children's ministry at our church is to teach kids about who God is and how His word applies to their lives in creative and memorable ways. Through engaging teaching, supportive environments, and close knit small group classes, we guide kids towards a better understanding of what it means to have a real relationship with God. We want kids to know that the Bible is full of interesting stories that matter in their lives today, that fun and games are definitely allowed at church, that worship can be full of loud music and silly dancing, and that there are adults in the church who truly want to love and lead them closer to Jesus. In other words, we want them to know that where God is, life is a lot more fun! If you spend any time around our church at all, you'll quickly learn one thing: we love students. They're smart. They're funny. They're bold. And they're bursting with potential. We truly believe that the middle and high school students in our midst are world changers in the making. That's why student ministry is such a huge part of what we do at our church. We want to guide our students in developing a personal faith in Christ as they step into their specific roles in the story He's writing with their lives. We work hard to create environments that engage students in good conversation about God, encouraging them to ask questions, search out answers, and truly learn to listen to His leading in their lives. Don't worry, all the good stuff at our church isn't just for the under 18 crowd! We have plenty of engaging events and gatherings designed to build the faith and community of our adults as well. Amen. Alleluia! *Glory to You, O Trinity, most holy and blessed, one God now and forever. Amen!* **M – Job 12:1, 13:3–17, 21–27; Acts 11:19–30; Jn 8:21–32;** **W  – Job 16:16–22, 17:1, 13–16; Acts 12:18–25; Jn 8:47–59;** **S    – Job 22:1–4, 21–23:7; Acts 13:26–43; Jn 10:1–18;** Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who has come to His people and set them free. He has raised up for us a mighty Savior, born of the house of His servant, David. Through His prophets, He promised of old that He would save us from our enemies, from the hands of all who hate us. He promised to show mercy to our fathers and to remember His holy covenant. This was the oath He swore to our father Abraham, to set us free from the hands of our enemies, free to worship Him without fear, holy and righteous in His sight all the days of our life. You, my child, shall be called the prophet of the Most High, for you will go before the Lord to prepare His way, to give His people knowledge of salvation by the forgiveness of their sins. In the tender compassion of our God, the dawn from on high shall break upon us, to shine on those who dwell in darkness and in the shadow of death, and to guide our feet into the way of peace.          *Luke 1:68-79* I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.  He descended to the dead.  On the third day, He rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.  He will come again to judge the living and the dead.  I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen! Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name; Your Kingdom come; Your will be done on earth as in heaven; give us today our daily bread and forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil for the Kingdom, the power, and the glory are Yours, now and forever. Amen! **Sunday – A Collect for Strength to Await Christ’s Return -** O God, our King, by the resurrection of Your Son Jesus Christ, on the first day of the week, You conquered sin, put death to flight, and gave us the hope of everlasting life: Redeem all our days by this victory; forgive our sins, banish our fears, make us bold to praise You and to do Your will; and steel us to wait for the consummation of Your Kingdom on the last great Day; through Jesus Christ our Lord.  **Amen!** **Monday – A Collect for the Renewal of Life –** O God, the King eternal, whose life divides the day from the night and turns the shadow of death into the morning: Drive far from us all wrong desires, incline our hearts to keep Your law, and guide our feet into the way of peace; that, having done Your will with cheerfulness during the day, we may, when night comes, rejoice to give You thanks; through Jesus Christ our Lord.  **Amen!** **Tuesday – A Collect for Peace –** O God, the Author of peace and Lover or concord, to know You is eternal life and to serve You is perfect freedom: Defend us, Your humble servants, in all assaults of our enemies; that we, surely trusting in Your defense, may not fear the power of any adversaries, through the might of Jesus Christ our Lord.  **Amen!** **Wednesday – A Collect for Grace –** O Lord, our heavenly Father, almighty and everlasting God, You have brought us safely to the beginning of this day: Defend us by Your mighty power, that we may not fall into sin nor run into any danger; and that, guided by Your Spirit, we may do what is righteous in Your sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord. **Amen!** **Thursday – A Collect for Guidance –** Heavenly Father, in You we live and move and have our being: We humbly pray You so to guide and govern us by Your Holy Spirit, that in all the cares and occupations of our life we may not forget You but may remember that we are ever walking in Your sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord.  **Amen.** **Friday – A Collect for Endurance –** Almighty God, whose most dear Son went not up to joy but first He suffered pain and entered not into glory before He was crucified: Mercifully grant that we, walking in the way of the Cross, may find it none other than the way of life and peace; through Jesus Christ Your Son, our Lord.  **Amen!** **Saturday – A Collect for Sabbath Rest –** Almighty God, who after the creation of the world rested from all Your works and sanctified a day of rest for all Your creatures: Grant that we, putting away all earthly anxieties, may be duly prepared for the service of Your sanctuary, and that our rest here upon earth may be a preparation for the eternal rest promised to Your people in heaven; through Jesus Christ our Lord.  **Amen!** O God, You have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent Your blessed Son to preach peace to those who are far off and to those who are near: Grant that people everywhere may seek after You and find You; Considering that the early church worshipped in large settings - in the synagogues - as well as in homes, we unite together similarly in order to be in deeper fellowship with God and one another. God has reconciled us not only to Himself but also to each other. This "each other" is called His Church. The mission of our Church is to glorify God by making disciples through the gospel of Jesus Christ. God’s mission and the mission of His Church are inseparably linked. As Jesus Christ works in and through us to fulfill our mission and pursue our vision, we expect to see results in three areas: Community Transformation, New Church Formation, Next Generation Empowerment. [Watch Live](/watch-live) - [Sermons](/sermons) - [Pastor's Blog](/pastors-blog) - [Sunday's Bulletin](/sundays-bulletin) --- ## URL: https://blakely-first-umc-33136.mydraftsite.cloud/sundays-bulletin ### Title: Sunday's Bulletin ### Page ID: 9537397 ### Content: ## Sunday's Bulletin ###### **BLAKELY FIRST METHODIST CHURCH** ###### FOLLOW US      Great High Priest, living forever to intercede for us: **It streams from the hills; it descends to the plains,** Hallelujah!  I give thanks to God with everything I’ve got – wherever good people gather, and in the congregation.  God’s works are so great, worth a lifetime of study – endless enjoyment!  Splendor and beauty mark His craft; His generosity never gives out.  His miracles are His memorial – This God of grace, this God of love.  He gave food to those who fear Him; He remembered to keep His ancient promise.  He proved to His people that He could do what He said: Hand them the nations on a platter – a gift!  He manufactures truth and justice; all His products are guaranteed to last – never out of date, never obsolete, rust-proof.  All that He makes and does is honest and true: He paid the ransom for His people; He ordered His covenant kept forever.  He’s so personal and holy, worthy of our respect.  The good life begins in the fear of God – Do that and you’ll know the blessing of God.  His hallelujah lasts forever! **Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end, amen.  Amen!** They arrived at Capernaum, and on the Sabbath day Jesus walked straight into the synagogue and began teaching. They were amazed at his way of teaching, for he taught with the ring of authority – quite unlike the scribes. All at once, a man in the grip of an evil spirit appeared in the synagogue shouting out, “What have you got to do with us, Jesus from Nazareth? Have you come to kill us? I know who you are – you’re God’s holy one!” 25 But Jesus cut him short and spoke sharply, “Hold your tongue and get out of him!” 26-27 At this the evil spirit convulsed the man, let out a loud scream and left him. Everyone present was so astounded that people kept saying to each other, “What on earth has happened? This new teaching has authority behind it. Why he even gives his orders to evil spirits and they obey him!” 28 And his reputation spread like wild-fire through the whole Galilean district.
